MIRAI CODE · Loved, Imperfect

To You Who Blames Yourself for What You Can't Do

You were never loved for being perfect — it's the unfinished places that hold the warmth.

Mirai — a Future Decoder who reads the sounds of your name

Unless you can do it perfectly, it feels as though it means nothing at all. One single mistake, and you negate your whole self.

Does that happen to you?

In my readings, I meet so many people who hold themselves to so high a standard that they are always, quietly, telling themselves: "still not enough."

One belief, hidden behind perfectionism

Beneath "I have to do this properly," there is, most often, a quiet belief in hiding:

"Unless I'm the perfect me, I won't be loved."

But — is that really so?

The person you hold dear — do you love them because they are perfect? Surely not. It was never that at all.

People are loved, imperfect as they are

People aren't loved because they are perfect. If anything, it's in the slightly scattered, the slightly fragile places that warmth comes to make its home.

The parts that are lacking are, at the same time, a margin — the open room where another can reach out a hand. If you could do every last thing alone, and flawlessly, then no one, ever, could be there to hold you up.

The sounds of your name reveal your charm, just as you are

The sounds of your name carry the charm that is natively yours. Even the place you'd taken for a flaw, read closely, turns out to be part of what makes you you. And seeing that, something loosens: "Ah — I was alright, just as I am."

What I am really doing, in every reading

So I take in the ones who try too hard — the undone parts included — whole.

"The parts you can't do — those are you, too." At that single sentence, so many people feel their shoulders, at last, come down.

In the end

It's alright not to be perfect. If anything — a little unfinished, and a person is warmer for it.

Today, give even the self who couldn't a small, quiet circle of approval. You, just as you are, are more than lovely enough.
