MIRAI CODE · Rewrite the Script
"I've Always Been This Way" — And Why That Belief Can Be Rewritten
The story you tell about yourself was written long ago — and never by you.
Mirai — a Future Decoder who reads the sounds of your name
"I'm just clumsy — I've always been that way."
"I've been shy since I was little."
"Whatever I start, I never see it through anyway."
The words we use to pin ourselves down. Do you have them too? And have you spent your whole life believing they are simply facts?
In my readings, I meet so many people clutching a belief like this — "I'm just this kind of person" — holding it tight, like a suit of armor.
— And once, I was one of them.
"I'm so fickle. I never stick with a single thing."
I'd leap into something new to learn, heart racing — and a little while later, drift off to the next. And each time, I would sigh at myself. (What an inconsistent, hopeless mess of a person I am.)
Then, one day, I happened to have my palm read — tesō, we call it in Japan.
I held out my hand. The reader studied it, and said:
"You? You've got three hundred times the curiosity of most people."
"You're the type who does far better with several things at once than with only one."
— Wait.
That's what this was?
The very trait I had been scolding myself for as "fickleness" was, all along, simply a wide, generous reach of curiosity. Only the name for it had changed.
And that alone let me like — just a little — the self I had so badly wanted to disown.
We are all living by an unconscious script
Every one of us carries, deep down, a story: "this is the kind of person I am." Call it the script of our life.
And most of the time, it isn't a script we wrote ourselves.
A careless remark from a parent, a teacher, a friend, back when we were small. "Oh, she's the shy one." "You're the big sister — you'll just have to put up with it." And you, still so little, took those words straight in as your own settings. That — and nothing more — is all it ever was.
A script can be rewritten
But I want you to remember this: that is not the real you. It is only a setting, written in after the fact.
And a setting can be rewritten.
Not "I'm clumsy," but "I'm someone who does things with care."
Not "I never stick with anything," but "I'm someone with a wide reach of curiosity."
The trait itself is unchanged. But the words you choose to tell it in change everything about how it feels to live inside your own life.
The sounds of your name remember your true script
This is precisely why I read the sounds of a name.
Far older, and far more honest than any belief pressed onto you later, the sounds of your name have been telling the truth of who you really are all along.
"I always thought I was clumsy — but these are careful, deliberate sounds. I actually take more care than most." The moment someone realizes this, I have watched the armor they'd been clenching grow suddenly, wonderfully light.
What I am really doing, in every reading
So, within a reading, what I do is gently rewrite that "this is the kind of person I am" — from the belief pinned on later, back to the truth held in the sounds of your name.
What you took for a flaw turns out to be a talent, seen from its other side. And once a person can receive it that way, it's astonishing how readily they can face forward again.
In the end
That setting you carry — "this is just how I am" — when was it written, and by whom?
If it is binding the person you are now, then know this: the right to rewrite it has always, always been yours.
Because the author of the script of your life is no one else — it is you.
